Description
An easy tapas recipe to snack on until that late-night meal. Crispy puff pastry wrapped around bacon and prunes for a sweet and savory snack that pairs perfectly with a glass of red wine.
Ingredients
Scale
- 7–8oz frozen puff pastry, thawed as directed on package
- 12 dried prunes
- 6 slices of bacon
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
- Prep a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
- Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 12 even pieces. Rectangles or triangles work best.
- Cut each slice of bacon in half and set aside.
- Take one piece of puff pastry and top it with a half slice of bacon and one prune. Roll this all up into a tight roll and seal the edge with a little water. Continue this process to finish the rest of the rolls.
- Place the rolls on your prepared baking sheet. Gently brush each roll with the beaten egg.
- Bake the rolls 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove and let cool on a wire rack. You can enjoy them still warm or let them cool to room temp.
Notes
These are great as part of a tapas spread or just on their own as an appetizer.
